Project Earth^® (www.projectearth.net) is a web site created and hosted by Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E&E). Formed in 1970, E&E is a broad–based environmental consulting firm whose underlying philosophy is to provide professional services worldwide so that sustainable economic and human development may proceed with minimum negative impact on the environment. E&E’s staff is comprised of individuals representing scientific, engineering, health, and social disciplines working together in multidisciplinary teams to provide innovative environmental solutions. To date our organization has completed more than 45,000 projects for a wide variety of clients in 84 countries, providing environmental solutions in nearly every ecosystem on our planet.

Project Earth^® is a web site which is designed for social networking around the mission of improving our Earth. It has links to websites such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as e-mail, and several hundred other sites to allow for the distribution information to a large number of people. The basic premise of the system is that by encouraging people from around the world to take simple actions and share their successes, we can help solve global issues such as climate change, or the loss of biodiversity, and move toward a more sustainable world for future generations. At the same time, we can also make our lives better, learn from others, and have fun doing it.

For the protection of all Project Earth^® participants, we have established Terms of Use and a Privacy Policy and require that site users agree to these terms as part of the registration process. Since Project Earth^® is, and will continue to be, a work in progress, similarly these terms and conditions will require future revisions and clarifications. As the web site naturally transitions into an educational and/or professional source, the evolving content of the site may require changes to these Terms of Use and Privacy Policies. Should material changes to these terms and conditions occur; existing users will be requested to agree to the amended terms and will be given the option of modifying and/or removing their user profile, as well as their contributions to the site.
